Fantasy for the win

So, I'm writing fan-fiction now. It's crazy fun. Horribly embarrassing, something I swore I'd never do, but... there you have it. Crazy fun.

ETA: Not that there's anything wrong with writing fan-fiction. I've always liked fan-fiction, when I could find the good stuff beyond the massive piles of not so much... I just used to swear I'd never write it. Then again, I also used to swear I'd never have kids, so we can tell how accurate my self prediction have been... *laughs*

I also have two, count them TWO new Obsidian Portal games-to-be with character backgrounds to write, and Script Frenzy starts next month. Wish me luck on the crazy word counts for the next few months...

Despite the strange eager anticipation all this possible writing inspires, in reality I have been horribly neglecting this blog, and I haven't even been clicking by GoodReads to rate the things I've finished reading.

Not that I've been reading much besides fan-fics lately, as the ME2 story was, well, crappy. Not really, it's a great game. It just didn't have any of the particular things I wanted out of it, (character development from the first game!), so I was a sad panda for a bit before I let go of my preconceptions and had fun. But now I am in agony waiting for ME3 to see if they redeem themselves. TWO YEARS! /*grr*argh/ I'm hoping they'll have some damn fine story-driven-rather-than-more-stuff DLC to tide me over. Or else I'll just have to write some. *laughs*

So, despite the awesome-sauce that is the kick-ass science fiction universe of Mass Effect, Dragon Age still holds sway in my heart as the bestest video game ever. Just for those of you keeping track. If BioWare actually follows through on this whole trilogy concept with a stunning character-driven finale, Mass Effect 3 may take its place, however. Here's hoping. :)

I write fanfics!

Don't be embarrassed. I mean, so many books out there that are about shows (there are TONS of Star Trek ones), started as fanfic. It's what they are. I think as long as it's plausible, interesting plot, and it's edited beforehand, fanfic is great. There's too much bad out there.

Ugh, which reminds me, I need to keep posting my Stargate fanfic, but I have one thing I need to check on ... and then, I am stuck later and don't know what to do to progress. Yet I know what happens later, I just don't know how to get there. *sigh*

See, I have no problems with other people's fanfic, and I LOVE your SG-1 story to itty-bitty-pieces; it's just not something my brain every seemed to work with before. Which I have said, in public, only to obviously refute now by publishing my own. That would be the embarrassment factor. *grins*

And my sympathies for the stuck... I am having that problem in three different stories at once! *sarcastic cheers* Good luck!
